I'm not going to lie, turning 23 had me a lot more emotional than I expected.

It's not that 22 wasn't a great year – it was and I'm incredibly thankful. I landed my first 'grown up job', met some pretty amazing people and had the opportunity to travel and work with brands I never thought I would.

Despite this, for the first time I found myself dreading that midnight tick (much to Eugene's dismay). I think it's the finality that scared me, the recognition that "hey this is all you're ever going to achieve at 22 years old."  Serious talk and midnight moping aside, I definitely started the 23rd chapter of my life in a good way!

Eugene and I were staying at Astral Tower so we woke up early to go for a dip in the rooftop pool. For breakfast we headed to Sokyo – here's a peak of our spread (shout out to the eggs benedict with miso hollandaise).

After returning to the hotel room to nurse our breakfast food babies we headed out to Catalina for a late lunch. The duck was so delicious and the dessert will definitely have me returning. Something about salted caramel, pastry and fig just feels so right.

Here's to a more productive (and well fed) twenty-third year.
